IMAGO is one of the worlds leading membership organisations for Cinematographers. With membership covering 46 countries worldwide, and growing, it’s the world’s largest international cinematographer organisation. The main purpose of the Federation is to champion and uphold the high standards achieved by cinematographers, and to spread that highly-specialised culture on which the long-standing technical and artistic quality of the European Cinema industry is firmly based. This includes a commitment to the cinematographers rights and innovation and development of technology and equipment in filming and quality screening in cinemas. Specific themes concern new technologies used in shooting and projecting a film and also in film preservation and restoration plus ongoing professional training and education.

International Directory of Cinematographers
The second edition of the Directory will be launched in November and at CAMERIMAGE 2011, and will be distributed to every IMAGO member and associate member worldwide. In addition the directory will be distributed by the Federation members at all leading festivals across the year. The Directory will also be available as an electronic version and be hosted on the IMAGO web site www.imago.org and on international cinematography magazine British Cinematographer’s website at www.britishcinematograher.co.uk In addition to having a comprehensive directory of worldwide cinematographers the publication will also have a guide to international product and service suppliers giving companies an ideal way of reaching this highly influential market.
